Pak President, PM sympathize over Iran quake

The president and the prime minister in their respective messages have expressed that Pakistan firmly stood by Iran in braving this calamity, a Foreign Ministry statement said.
In order to assist the Iranian government’s rescue and relief efforts, the president and the prime minister have offered to send immediate consignment of humanitarian supplies including tents, blankets and other associated items along with rescue and relief teams. 
“The concerned authorities in this regard are in touch with the Iranian side to ensure that humanitarian supplies are sent according to the Iranian needs,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif extended his deepest condolences over the loss of lives in the tragic calamity, and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured persons.
Chief Minister of Punjab province Shehbaz Sharif also expressed grief and sorrow over loss of lives and properties in the aftermath of the destructive earthquake.
A 7.3-magnitude earthquake shook the western province of Kermanshah and the regions bordering Iraq on Sunday night. 
Based on the latest statistics, at least 430 people have been reported killed and over 7,156 injured in quake-stricken areas in Iran.
