39th anniversary of Islamic Revolution marked in Pakistan

Pakistan’s National Security Adviser Lieutenant General (R) Nasser Khan Janjua, Minister for Housing and Works Akram Khan Durrani, Punjab Minister for Labour and Manpower Raja Ashfaq Sarwar, foreign ambassadors, senior diplomats, politicians, retired generals, senior journalists and analysts attended the ceremony and congratulated Iran on the auspicious occasion.

Iranian students in Islamabad also performed national anthems of Iran and Pakistan which was warmly welcomed by the audience. A large cake was also cut to celebrate the occasion. 

Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost in his speech said Iran and Pakistan enjoy strong relations. “I am honored that we have good relations with our brotherly neighbor Pakistan.'

He added that people of Iran and Pakistan share so many commonalities with each other. The Iranian diplomat noted that Iran andPakistan also have deep religious and cultural ties. 

He expressed the hope that cooperation between the two friendly countries would further strengthen in times to come. 

The envoy added that it is matter of great satisfaction that the leaders of Iran and Pakistan are focusing to further deepen ties between the two countries. He was confident that economic ties between the two neighbored would also improve. 

He said that Iran and Pakistan being two important countries of the Islamic world through their joint cooperation can overcome the challenges to the Muslim world. 

Mehdi Honardoost said that Iran and Pakistan by using their resources can help in making the lives of the regional countries better and could provide a healthy and safe environment in the region.

The ambassador also highlighted the importance of Islamic Revolution in the history of Iran. 

He said 39 years back during these days, a revolution occurred in Iran, through which a despotic monarchy was converted in to an independent, democratic and Islamic system.

He added political independence was the biggest gift of the revolution to the people of Iran and under its blessings the country acquired tremendous achievements in the various fields 'Self-sufficiency in the defense production is one of its obvious examples.'
